I shot my 500 today.I used the factory Hornady 350 gr. xtp and some handloads with 350 xtp's with h110 and CCI large rifle primers and Hornady brass. Powder weight was 43 grains.This is max load by Hodgdon website. I noticed that the factory ammo was flattening the primers but the handloads...
thanks guys i did'nt know about lil gun,i like h110 and load my 44 mags with it. will work up a load for the 350 xtp's with it. may also try the imr4227 also.
i'll be loading with 350 grain xtp's. if any body loads these with either powder let me know why you like either one and why.thinkin about 110 cause i use it with my 44 mags and like it.
Just got a 500 mag in 4 inch bbl length and a box of 350 gr Hornady xtp.Am going out tomorrow to warm it up.From what i read,every one that has one loves it.I'm a sucker for muzzle blast and heavy recoil,and to scare the guy next to me at the range is fun too!
