    s&w costumer service

s&w conumer service as far as the gun being 18 years old, the warranty is to go back to 1989, dry fired yes, but not a lot. I guess I'm surprised that they wouldn't cover it. The gun is exceptional shape in every other way.

    s&w costumer service

I sent a model 60-7 back to S&W for a hammer stud that failed. The gun was made in 1990 and was purchased by my wife. Costumer service says I have to pay for repair, pointing out that it was wear and tear. The gun has had at the most 400 hundred rounds through it and treated like the safe queen...

    model 18 question

Shoots just fine. I been on the market for a 17 or 18 for some time. I'm happy with it, I just found it odd for it to be such a tight fit. They eject without a problem though. Love those k frames.

    model 18 question

Why does the chambers of my cylinder seem to be undersized? I bought a model 18-4 recently and the rounds go in the cylinder very tight. All are snug, but particularly a couple of them. I thought there might be some build up of crud or lead in them, but I've cleaned them very well, took a bore...

    Refinishing extractor rod

I bought a model 57 and the nickel finish is pretty much unblemished except for the extractor rod. Does anybody know who will renickel small parts like this? Thanks in advance....David

    model 29 question

I recently bought a model 36 and wanted to improve the trigger, so i went to youtube for help and there was a very informitive video. Anyway that went very well, polished up things and replaced springs with a wolf shooters pack. So a 29 was next. did the same thing to it, but I noticed that were...

    which would you buy

Speedo2 Thanks for the reply. I thinking that it must have been refinished. I have compaired it to another smith nickel and the lettering is just not as crisp under a magnifing glass. Close but a little rounded. I will send pictures when the wife gets home wiht the camera. Again thanks for all...

    which would you buy

Speedo2 Just as an aside, I have a nickel model 14-3. 6" barrel Stamped under the grips on the frame with an N in a square. Do you think this was originally blue? other markings are a Z in a circle, both Z and N on the right side, on the left side E10, E9, R-S and 54952. I always wondered...

    which would you buy

These guns were on consignment from the same person. I don't get the expense of wanting them in nickel either. The guns are are not just cosmetically good but have been shot very little as best I can tell. I don't think the were refinished to restore them I just think the guy had more money than...

    which would you buy

I stopped by the local gun shop and the had 3 smiths. One a model 14-3, one a model 48-3 and a model 17-2. All were 8-3/8 inch barrels and all were sent to smith to be nickel plated. The condition was the same on all three, great. All had original grips. boxes and paperwork. I'm looking at them...

    38 special bulge

I'm shooting light loads, lead, Wadcutters and semi wadcutters. If I load anything hot, I opt for 357. The length of the cases are within spec and even unloaded the cases will not go in the cylinder with ease. Its not all of them either. I shoot them through smith 10, 14, 586, ruger sp101, and a...

    38 special bulge

Definetly a bulge, the cartridge slides into the cylinder until the bulge then you need to push it in with your finger. Sometimes its also a little hard to rotate the cylinder, but it will function

    38 special bulge

I have reloaded for a while now and I notice that the 38 cases will sometimes have a bulge near the bottom of the cartridge. Its like a ring around the cartridge. I believe I have the dies adjusted correctly. When I size them it seems to size fully. I don't have problems with 357's or other...
