    Model 64

Yes, great deal. I can't explain why, because I really prefer blued guns, but my 64 goes to the range with me every time. Often, I only take it and one other. I shoot it almost exclusively double action, and always at 15 yards. If I had to keep only one revolver, it would likely be my Model...

    Pawn shop colt(range update)

Very nice. Congratulations! I've been wanting one a long while. I love shooting .32s, and one like this would be perfect for use in teaching my kids how to shoot.

Model 57 Yoke Endshake - Shims or Peening to fix?

Thanks, guys, for your comments and suggestions. In particular, thanks to armorer951 for the excellent pictures and descriptions, which I've studied closely. The reality of lack of time and multiple other priorities being higher led me to contact S&W about repairing it. They sent me a prepaid...

Model 57 Yoke Endshake - Shims or Peening to fix?

Thanks, armorer951 for your instruction, pics, and comments. I'll plan this weekend to inspect the yoke button closely under magnification to see if I see that arc. Your pictures are extremely helpful. Thanks, too, WR Moore, for your comments. I indeed already have the shims on hand for the...

    28-2 back from S&W

hey, @ExRanger714, did you just send the gun in unannounced, or did you call first? I'm thinking about doing the same to my 57-no dash if I can't correct the yoke/frame endshake and cylinder/yoke endshake myself. DISREGARD: I just found it on their website that I should call or email them first.

Model 14-3 at an otherwise waste of a show.

Congratulations! You did well. I paid $460 for a K-38 that had endshake issues. A couple shims later, and it was shooting perfectly. That was seven years ago. I've since shot thousands of wadcutters and SWCs through it for informal bullseye at 25 and 50 yards. It's much more accurate than...

Model 57 Yoke Endshake - Shims or Peening to fix?

All: Been a long while since I last posted. Awhile back, I bought a Model 57-no dash that had obviously been shot a lot. It has both yoke-to-frame endshake and cylinder-to-yoke endshake. Going through my Kuhnhausen book, I see that he recommends peening the yoke button if more than 1-2...

    Sigh, bad news barrel

Heck, Boogsawaste, I'm willing to give you 75 bucks CASH MONEY for that ol' pitted gun.

Quest for "Perfect" 44 Special Load?

Your eyes are better than mine! I shoot handguns at 100 yds every so often. I just can't see well enough with the iron sights to keep a decent group.

Quest for "Perfect" 44 Special Load?

Similar to the Red Dot load, try 6.0-6.2 grains of Green Dot. Great load in my gun.

    Old vs new?

I too prefer the older ones. However, those folks are mistaken who believe that all of the older guns were lovingly crafted by gentle-hearted factory workers who caressed and cherished each part 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Gun Show... Always Raising the Bar

I wouldn't give a penny more than 28K for that Python.

    My Dad's cheap gun.

My late 80s Taurus .22LR nine-shot revolver has bluing that makes a new S&W look like it was done with a permanent marker. The Taurus has a deep, rich blue that competes with S&W of the old days.

Went to the range. Confirmed I only need two handguns.

Might as well show us the CZ. As a lefty, I had long considered getting a CZ 85B. But the BHP has supplanted that desire.

Went to the range. Confirmed I only need two handguns.

Oh, I know, which is why I have a couple .22 revolvers (icing on the cake) in the safe. Even so, in today's world, one could reasonably argue that one might be better off having a centerfire caliber for which you can cast bullets and reload (like .32 S&W Long or H&R Magnum as a suitable...
