Went to the range. Confirmed I only need two handguns.

At the range this past weekend, I was reminded again that all I really need, handgun-wise, are a Model 10/64 and a BHP. I've got a bevy of other handguns that I enjoy shooting, but, for the longest time now, my favorites have been the Model 64 shooting DA nearly exclusively and the Hi Power when wanting to shoot a semi-auto.

I only shoot handloads. For the above guns, my standard loads use lead bullets powered by Alliant's Green Dot powder.

Of course, who can resist a nice K38 with full wadcutters, or a nice N frame in any caliber? However, since I'm not a competition shooter or a handgun hunter, those and others are just icing on the cake.

Slim: Good point you bring up. I have shot quite a few wadcutters through the 64, and I know the gun is very accurate. However, my supply of WCs is low, and I'm too busy/lazy to cast some more right now. I'm reserving my last 500 for the K38 at 25 yds and 50 yds for my very informal Bullseye shooting.

Sip: Great pic. Who installed the Novaks and the rowel hammer on the BHP? Did you have any other work done to it?

Difficult to choose just two, maybe if you said just 10. Lol lol

I recently bought another Hi Power, as I had sold mine many years ago. Boy, I didn't remember what I was missing all these years. I've put about 200 rounds through it and it shoots very well, no malfunctions at all. It also feels much better than a 1911 in my smaller hands. My second gun is any N frame, with adjustable sights.

You'd still need a 22 and what , No big bores ?

Oh, I know, which is why I have a couple .22 revolvers (icing on the cake) in the safe. Even so, in today's world, one could reasonably argue that one might be better off having a centerfire caliber for which you can cast bullets and reload (like .32 S&W Long or H&R Magnum as a suitable substitute) than nonreloadable rimfires. Who ever would have foreseen this extended .22LR shortage?

Thanks. Local guy put the ring hammer on. C&S did the sights safety and trigger job. Sear eventually gave way to hammer follow and I had Jim Hoag do the trigger again.

I too would pick my 10-5 and CZ 75B.

Nobody wants to see a pic of a CZ...

Might as well show us the CZ. As a lefty, I had long considered getting a CZ 85B. But the BHP has supplanted that desire.
