I don't know what is going on here as far as finish but I would think that if the revolver was stripped to bare metal it would shurely rust very quickly down here in south Florida especially coming from a condo on the Ocean.
It does have an S with the serial number. My concern is that this gun has been refinished in maybe a brushe chrome or nickel I'm guessing. Thank you for that quick reply!
I picked this revolver up recently but not sure of exactly what I have. I called S&W and the gentleman I spoke to feels that it is actually a carbon revolver from 1956 the serial number is 1516## It is an N frame 357. Any ideas?
