    S&W fights back

Since it has become popular to redefine the 1st Amendment in opposition to it’s intent by our Constitution and Bill of Rights, would it not make sense they would become emboldened and strike at our treasured 2nd? By merely introducing H.R.127, have they not made it clear their intent to usurp...

    Mauser HSc assistance, please!

I’ve owned several .380 HSc’s over the years from Interarms and have occasionally experienced the same problem. One of the ways I’ve had success fixing it since it’s a locked breech instead of a simple blow back, is making sure there are no burrs or mill marks on the feed ramp of both the...

Which .40 to Choose? Smith, Beretta, PPQ

I’ve always loved the Hi-Power, but in .40 it really excels. Because the slide is a bit wider than the 9mm, I feel the balance is better. Just my opinion of course. I currently have a couple of FN .40’s, one with the SFS and love it. You might also wish to consider the H&K P30 in either the...

    Model 60 No Dash

One of my all time favorites, either revolver or semi auto. With a pocket clip, they are one of the easiest to carry in your front pocket.

    DeSantis Hunger? Need Advice

I've been looking at the Desantis dual angle Hunger for my 6" 686. Can anyone tell me if it's a well made? I recently tried out a Bianchi Cyclone and was disappointed ( Bianchi - What happened). I want the ability to carry it cross draw. Is desantis a better choice? Thanks for your help.

My 686-4 Gosh I really like it

I believe you have essentially answered your own question. As for your desire for a revolver, I can't argue with your wish. If you intend to shoot .357 mags, you may want to consider a longer barrel being that it will be your first and only. Just a suggestion.

My 686-4 Gosh I really like it

Help Kernel, Actually, the box label has " SB" . So it's just indicating square butt. Under the features, it has CT - RR - WO. So, that's combat trigger, red ramp, and white outline, but nothing about the actual type of grip. Bob

My 686-4 Gosh I really like it

I do have the box and all the docs, but the original grips were gone when I bought it. I would love to find a nice looking pair, but some of the prices are awfully high. I've had my eyes open over the past year, maybe I'll get lucky. Thanks loeman! Bob

Thanks Pizza Bob, The special order number is 4131. I appreciate your help. It's interesting to know the little things and I love the history story. Interestingly, the manual is dated 6/93. Bob

Why Are 617s In Such High Demand

I own a 17 with a 6" full lug with combat grips and no one expects a .22lr to come out the muzzle. I really like it, but I honestly enjoy shooting my Ruger Mark's much more than the heavy 17. It could be as simple as how rare 22's are. It is without a doubt the classiest 22 out there.

My 686-4 Gosh I really like it

It's a 6" and it has become not just my favorite revolver, but certainly one of my favorite handguns. It says a lot about S&W. I am interested in it's birth date and I'm hoping someone can help me out. It's a -4 and I believe they started making them around 1993. The serial number is...

    Bianchi Leather - What Happened?

I recently picked up a Bianchi Cyclone 111 for my 686. It's been at least 15 years since I've bought a Bianchi, but I've always been happy with the quality. I recently looking for a new holster for my 686 and wanted one for cross draw and along came the Cyclone 111. It gave me both strong...

    Seller's definition of "mint"

A seller on GB using the word - Mint - trying to convey brand spanking new using dark pictures or out of focus - blurry, is most likely in possession of a few red marks in their feedback section. For those buyers they believe have cold eyes and need some wool pulled over them. A seller on GB...
