My original 8-3/8" 686 shot 2" 100yd groups with a 2X Leupold scope on it with 158 gr JHPs in front of 16.5 grains of Win 296 ball powder. That was my very first coyote gun.

comparison I also have both, my 8-3/8" 686 w a 2X Leupold scope shoots 2" groups at a hundred yards, if I do my part. I wouldn't be surprised if my open sighted 8-3/8" 27-2 would do the same. Try 'em out, go with your gut.
