    Magazine compatibility

My home state is the once great state of Colorado. It has since degraded into a Liberal cesspool with the administration trying their best to catch up to California. I am interested in the M&P 15, but of course have to have it configured with a 10 round Mag. If, by chance, a person...

    Twist question

That worked, 1-10 twist, just like it is supposed to be. My only guess is that my brush was TOO tight, and would not let my cleaning rod handle rotate freely enough. Thanks for your help everyone.

    Twist question

Headed to the shop to try a jag and patch. I will let you know, thanks.

    Twist question

Yes, definitely .308. It makes no sense whatsoever. Especially the difference from 1-10 all the way to 1-14. It must be something in my measuring technique, but darned if I can come up with a reason.

    Twist question

My M&P 10, serial number KN 121xx appears to have a 1-14 twist, rather than the 1-10 in most .30 caliber rifles, and what it says in the S&W catalog. I have measured it several times using a cleaning rod, bore brush and piece of tape marking the starting point and measuring the distance when it...

    Identification please

Wow, fast reply, many thanks!! It is in beautiful condition. I will have to pursue some ammo for it...if it ever gets back where we can get ammo again.

    Identification please

I inherited another sixgun for my S&W stable. It was before Model numbers, so would appreciate knowing how to describe it: Hand Ejector, fixed sights 5 screw 4"barrel SMITH AND WESSON (on left side of barrel) 32-20 CTG (on right side of barrel) MADE IN U.S.A. (right side of frame below cylinder...

Thanks. I don't own a K Frame. A serious gap in my much loved S&W Stable!!! Everything else, just no K's!

Trying to find a Blue Gun to make a holster For S&W Mod. 65, 3 inch

I do not have access to the gun, and am not certain whether it is a J Frame or a K Frame since it is no longer offered by S&W. I don't mind using a 4" barrel blue gun if the frame size is correct. Some of my research tells me the Model 65 is a J Frame and some says it is a K Frame. Help please?

    Apology to Midway

I definitely don't begrudge Midway their shipping charges, by any means. The speed of their shipping is exemplary. Doesn't that count for anything? It darn sure costs THEM more to do it this way than a more lackadaisical shipping "when we get around to it" approach. Kudos to motorcyclejoe and to...

357 or 44 Magnum for Black Bear Protection ??

Can't resist adding to the confusion. So many of the stories state that the handgun was emptied "AT" the bear. I could see none of them that told where those rounds hit, or did NOT hit. You could shoot a bear in the muscle groups, the abdomen, and even the chest cavity until you run out of...

Jerry Miculek grips how are they?

Seems like I am going against the tide here, but I have replaced all my Hoge rubber grips (too thin at the top for me) on my Mod 66, 29, and 629. I really like them. For me, they tame the recoil considerably, are very easy to use double action, and although I don't shoot them single action very...

    Classic DX ??

My test target is marked almost exactly the same way - 25 yards and 8 3/8 vs. 8.375". Pretty nice target too!

    Classic DX ??

I would really have liked to come across one of the dash 3's in the 5 inch length. I had spent a good deal of time looking for a 4" barrel to carry hiking and horseback, and just couldn't find anything without going to the on-line auctions, and I'm still a little leery of those. My dash 4 showed...

    Classic DX ??

Many thanks 44wheelman! That is exactly the type information I was looking for. It will darn sure shoot! Haven't tried any groups on paper yet, but it will undoubtedly outshoot me. Thanks again.
