    70s-80s duty holster question

During the mid-late 70s - holsters had a strap retention, four inch bbls and ammunition in 2 six round dump pouches. The dump pouches could be on the right side of the belt buckle or left side of the belt buckle as to officer's preference. For some reason our department favored clarino leather...

Just a rear view mirror reflection on S&W grips

We had to buy our own revolvers, most of the department carried SWs. I had a Model 15 used it during firearms training, was later able to buy a Model 66 4" through the department which then I carried. This was in 1976. The seat belts in those PD Novas we drove really rubbed the wood stocks, it...

    Sig's Classic P Series

I'm a classic Sig fan too. Although my 226 went to a good home and my 225 was traded for a 220 in 9mm with four magazines. It's a European heel release model. My other P-220 was a LE trade in I bought used. It's a 45 . Yep, I do luv my Classic Sigs.

Vintage LEO revolvers and leather gear

I'm pretty sure it is a Indian Motorcycle; they were competition to Harley Davidson for many years. That is the inline 4 cylinder model. Can't say as I've ever seen a picture of police Indian Motorcycle. Thanks for posting.

    Old 'Econo-gun' .22's

Many years ago, working for the USFS in Colorado, the bartender at my favorite bar bought a pistol and rifle from a broke cowpoke or so I was told. I in turn bought the pistol from him. It was the High Standard Double Nine just like the one shown in the box on a previous post. It came with a...

    KCPD Pre-War .357 Magnums Purchased During 1939/1940 (Finish Condition - A Survey)

Great thread on fine old working guns from the KCPD. Great research thread, you are to be commended for your diligence. Now to join with others in finding one.

    1951 pre 15

Super looking pre-15. In a short while the 'overpaid' will likely fade into the distance, especially after a range session. Good luck on getting the .22 version Model 18 if I recall correctly. I carried my model 15 so I had to have a .22 version, it took a good long while to find one that was...

Why I collect what I collect

Collecting has been with me for years, Webley Revolvers Government Models 1-VI that have unit markings. Royal Flying Corps, Royal Horse Artillery, and others. Webley Green revolvers that were owned by British Officers serving from 1880 through the end of WWI. Documentation has been half of the...

Holster Karma Giveaway #2- Winner is 5-Shot

Please include me in your drawing. FWIW - I'm interested primarily in the 4" Safari land holster if you decide to split them up based on the interest shown for the snubby holster.

I lost my best friend today

Very sorry for your loss and all those others who have posted on their recent losses. I'd write more but this old geezer has his allergies acting up big time. The screen is too darn blurry to type.

    Snowmageddon!!!!

Just getting a cup of coffee, sidewalks done, cars nearly done (no garage), snowplow came by, rear deck and walks to do later on. Our little Gordon setter mix, she is not happy, 10" deep hard to get comfortable to pee. Otherwise she's okay with the snow. Lost power for about 4 hours, fire in the...

    Another 66 Snubbie

For as many 66s as SW made, they just don't show up like you'd expect them too. Folks just hang onto them and use 'em. I was surprised how well my short barrel 66 shot, within a couple of points of my 4" 66 that I've had since 1977. Both happen to be no dash and my former duty sidearms.

    Cost to reload .45

My indoor shooting range allows only brass (and nickel) ammunition, no problem with reloads. No steel or aluminum cases. The brass is swept regularly by the RO unless you specify you are a reloader and need your brass. Since I shoot revolvers about half the time, the empties go right in the bag...

    FAVORITE J FRAME HOLSTER

Mika pocket holster for my Model 38. Works well in the front pocket, side pocket and rear pocket. Think I'm going to spring for one of the new IWB models. Waybackwhen I was relief bailiff, I used an older black Hunter belt holster with screw tension. Of course concealed by my navy blue blazer.
