Is it safe to fire heavy bullets in a Smith & Wesson model 60-9? I have several boxes of American Eagle 158 grain JSP. For carry, I use Federal 125 grain JHP. I sold my 686 and the model 60 is the only .357 magnum I own. TIA.
For me, standard .357 magnum ammo shoots no problem out of my model 60-9 2.125". Love it. I don't shoot it much however. Just use for occasional carry and home defense.
Federal, Hornady and Speer work great. I've never had an issue with thousands of rounds.
For me, Winchester is too dirty. Remington is unreliable insofar as firing when the primer is hit.
