    What's with the dash?

    I am new to S&W and keep seeing threads about the "no dash" models. So what does that mean? I just bought a new 642 and it has a dash. Did I buy something that is not made as well or less desirable for some reason?

    So I can get a 940 cylinder and put it on my 642 and I'll have a 9mm 642? If so, will a 642 handle 9mm +p ammo? Where can I get a 940 cylinder?

    Just got my first S&W. Got a 642 with the lock. Want to do something to the sights. Would love to have an XS installed, but I don't have the pinned on sight. What can I do? I thought of some sort of paint. Green front sight perhaps? Anything that anyone can show me? Also, what about...
