From what I can see the line of 1911s from smith are very nice. I've never owned one but will be buying one soon. Pretty sure the 5" with the blue grips will find its way to my safe.

is yours the 4.25"? I am considering one of these as well in the 5" though. i personally would only use brand specific magazines in a high end gun.

ready for it........... I use simple green, rinse with how water and blow dry mine with compressed air, then use rem oil. never had any issues. its stainless steel and plastic. as long as its clean, dry and lubricated in all the proper places when your done whats the difference??

I have a tuckable from mccabes custom leather for my shield. im very happy with it. be aware, I waited 8 months for it. I didn't have my carry permit at the time but did have to push back some training until I got what I planned to wear. very nice holster with a single, tuckable clip.

I found my shield 40 had quite the break in. it was tight at first but after some shooting it smoothed out

like said, yes it will lock back. to use the slide release will be tough until it gets broke in, at least mine was. but now I can run out, drop the magazine, get another magazine in from a mag pouch, release the slide and fire again in a couple seconds.
