    5 Screw Snubby 38

I have no idea what his plans were for the revolver. He had an interesting collection of firearms with some modern sporting arms and some military surplus rifles from the US and eastern Europe. There two S&W 669 semi autos, one with either Arabic or oriental markings on the slide, like it had...

    5 Screw Snubby 38

Sorry for the confusion. The serial number I provided is on the base of the grip frame. There is no letter prior to the numbers. It has a pinned barrel frame but the current barrel is not pinned (the pin is in a small jar) and it has an extra matte finish 4 "barrel without a pin hole marked...

    5 Screw Snubby 38

Unfortunately my brother was involved in a traffic crash on Friday night and had a brain bleed which caused his demise. We went to his house on Monday and secured several firearms. We went back today to work on cleaning his house out and found several more firearms. Included is this 5 screw...

    S & W K18 No Dash

All, A friend purchased a M18 no dash revolver, K3481XX, with a pinned barrel. The dealer said it was a 1953 model. I know that is incorrect. Can anyone confirm his revolver is a 1958 revolver? I don't have any pictures. Bill

    K22 Masterpiece Third Model

Got to the range today and fired four cylinders of ammo. I began having difficult extraction after the third cylinder. Brought the revolver home and cleaned out the chambers with a cylinder reamer. Got lots of shavings out of the chambers. Reamed them and then polished each chamber with JB...

Richard, You were correct on the flat head screw. The screws have been swapped and the grips fit better! Does this look better? Bill

The ultimate Highway Patrolman thread.including N frame ser# ranges

Someone has been releasing NYSP model 28-2 revolvers in amazing condition recently. I purchased one on GunBroker a couple of years ago in like unused condition. In 1983 I was a deputy sheriff in Laramie County, Wyoming. We got a new sheriff who banned semiauto pistols and mandated 38...

    New S & W 18-4

The saga continues. The Brownells reamer arrived on Tuesday. I got everything organized so on Wednesday I reamed the cylinder. It took about ten minutes for all six chambers. No substantial amount of metal removed. A few bumps like rough spots was all. On Friday I fired 70 rounds of CCI...

    New S & W 18-4

Well... I thoroughly cleaned the cylinder and fired some CCI with extraction problems at the first cylinder full. I will clean it again and try the Federal again and see if it is better. I guess I am going to have to work on the cylinder. I will try polishing first and if that does not work...

    New S & W 18-4

I took the new revolver to the range today. Three or four cylinders of Federal ammo without any extraction problems. Ran out of Federal so I switched to Winchester. After three cylinders extraction became extremely difficult. I will clean the cylinder thoroughly and try again with CCI and...

    A couple more law dawgs

Earlier this year I was contacted by the WHP Inventory Officer asking if I wanted to buy a recently traded Glock Model 35 with my Sergeant badge number on it. I eventually did so and it is now my nightstand pistol. If you look very closely you can see the WHP marking on the slide.
