Default unknown S&W revolver

Can anyone tell me anything about a S&W revolver that I recently purchased at an estate sale for $20 ? It appears to be of stainless steel with a "pencil" barrel that measures 5 7/8 inches. The revolver has a cylinder 1 1/2 inches long. The grips are pearl or faux pearl. Most of the inscriptions are worn off. The letters, "W C F CTG", are all that is legible on the right side of the barrell. The serial number is also almost illegible, but the first four numbers are 1017. Any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome from Texas Stillcrazy64. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Pictures will be a big help. Does sound like a 32-30 from the description, but cannot be certain.
