Hello from Knoxville, TN
After shooting other people's weapons (mainly my dad's) for years, I finally became an "official" gun owner, by buying a dirt cheap sigma40.
I came across this forum while looking for trigger help for the sigma & CC info and I like what I see here.

Welcome aboard. Glad to "meet" another Sigma .40 owner. The trigger does leave a bit to be desired but, Smith covers it with a Lifetime Repair Warranty which they seem to honor w/o question. I spoke to Frank at the warranty center in TX. He speaks to you like you're an old buddy. When I told the gun I had, he said, "I know, ****** trigger, right?" Cracked me up. He changed to it to a smoother, shorter, pull which improved my enjoyment of my weapon. That's the first step. The 2nd is to dry-fire it a bunch. Helps to smooth things further and as somebody else said, "it strengthens your Sigma finger!" Don't know if you've fired it yet but, as long as I do my part, my gun shoots where I aim it. Have fun, good shooting.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!
So far I have put about 500 rounds through the Sigma and despite the trigger, I was pretty impressed with the gun.
I dunno if the trigger is started to "warm up" or I'm used to it now, but it's starting to feel a lot smoother.
It's also very accurate and I hold my own with my friend and his fancy pants Glock 22 (he hated shooting my gun).
I didn't do the full mod on my trigger, but I did polish the sear and other moving parts to help with the gritty pull. I even still have the pigtail spring in there.
