New guy from East TN
Hello all from a long time gun guy who finally got his first Smith & Wesson! I lucked into a sweet Model 60-9 in a trade:
Daddy has a new CCW!! (Which means my wife can have her LCR back)
Now I just need to find some nice wood stocks for the grip...

And a warm welcome from “wild and wonderful “ West Virginia at least that’s what they tell us.

Where in East Tennessee? I'm a Knoxville native and lived in Chattanooga for a while as a kid (during WWII--yeah, I'm old). Long-time Louisville resident now.
Welcome! Nice CCW. I love J-frames.

Upper East TN, in the Tri-Cities area... near Kingsport if you know where that is. I love Knoxville, though. Lived there for a few years when I was at UTK.
I am loving this S&W, too... don't know why it took me so long to get one.

Certainly do. As a kid I spent a lot of summer time with grandparents in Bristol and had an aunt and uncle who lived in Kingsport later. Last time I was there, many years ago, the Eastman plant was still putting fumes of glacial acetic acid into the air. It was rough breathing.
I liked Bristol, with the state line running down the middle of what was then the main drag.
Did you ever fish South Holston?
Serious time travel here.

Some things never change... I live about three miles from Eastman, and from my backyard you can see the plumes of smoke rising in the distance. In cold months, even if the skies are clear, it will snow over the plant because of the steam being released from the boilers.
South Holston is my favorite local lake. Bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, trout... it is a great place to fish. Lots of room to move around, and not as many kids on jet skis as Boone or Watauga.
