Hello from Upstate South Carolina
Hello group. I just signed up for this forum. I do currently own 2 S&W pistols and 1 shotgun but never really considered joining a forum as they operate flawlessly. I search out this forum as I want to upgrade from my Kahr P40 to the new Shield 45. I just never fell in love with the Kahr. An off duty officer introduced me to the Kahr while in a LGS and said it was his off duty weapon of choice. I thought well good enough for off duty, good enough for me. After purchasing and firing a couple hundred rounds, I just don't love it. No issues with the performance just not a big fan of the 2-tone look. Love the size but that's about it. Fast forward to about 2 months ago and I saw the Shield 45. Stopped by my LGS last Wednesday and they had one. Love the look and the feel. Joined to hear any and all chatter to do some homework before purchasing and so far I'm hearing many good things. Anyway, sorry for the long winded intro. Look forward to being part of the forum.

I've heard nothing but good reviews from users about the Shield 9 & 40. I wouldn't expect anything less about the 45.

Hey Mike, Glad they have internet in your neck of the Woods. There are a lot of wooded areas with no internet access of any sort.

Well I did it. Pulled the trigger (so to speak) on a Shield 45 off Gunbroker. I am usually the type to wait until the hype wears off and look for a sale. I bought my Sigma .40 for $299 on sale and S&W had a $50 rebate. $250 for a full size .40 was a sweet deal. The more I looked into the Shield 45, the more I liked it and I think since it appears I'm not alone, it may be some time before they go on sale. So now I'm waiting on shipping. Thanks all for all the good info about the shield.
