Im new here and not sure what area to post this. I am almost positive it has been discused many times but my felt was gone when I bought the gun. What is the best way to redo it? I have been told to get cloth and have it done but ones I have seen are "puckered". The felt looks blown in. Thanks again. Ill try and hold the questions back after this. Randy.

my wife recovered this one for me with cloth, and its not fuzzy like it looks, its the light and photo. She told me the secret was finding stretchy cloth

If you have what are called the "flocked" liners, this was done by vacu-forming pre flocked plastic sheets. In other words, a mold is made and a sheet of plastic with the fine blue fibers already attached is heated in an oven until it becomes soft and flexible. It is then placed over the mold and vacuum is applied to suck the soft plastic down into the mold and hold it until it hardens and then it is trimmed, ready to place in the presentation case.

There are company's on the internet that sell flocking kits which consist of a colored paint / adhesive that you apply and then spray the fibers on to the paint with a pump type application tool.

Or, you can use a fabric to stretch into the liner and attach with spray adhesive.

Or, better yet, do a search for one of our members named Joe Cebull

who does a fantastic job restoring liners in these cases at a very reasonable cost. Good luck with your project. Bob

Thanks to both of you. That one looks better than I have seen. You would think as many the police have distroyed some good ones would be out there. Thanks again.

Now my wife is asking where you found the material. Thanks

Jo annes fabric, I was with my wife to pic out color, wife asked for stretchy fabric and they pointed us to a couple racks, they had this fabic in a least 6 differant colors and I think it was 4.99 a yard, spray glue came from walmart,Aleenes crystal clear tacky spray, it was on clearance and about half the price of Joanns, and it is real tacky.. this was done about 2 weeks ago for less than $10

Here is another pic with gun, I think it came out great, looks better in person than photos

I'm not trying to hijack your thread but have a very similar problem. I have a presentation case but it has the plastic "flocked" liner. The plastic has deteriorated and broken in places.

I don't imagine there is any place selling replacement liners. This is for a 29-2 with the 4" barrel. The gun and case are perfect, and I have the tools and paperwork. Just the plastic liner is shot.

Anybody got any suggestions?

mine is plastic,

1972, I don't know of any place to get a liner, maybe someone else could help, if you can repair it, and recover it

Case restoration!

Here are some pics of cases I have restored for people.
This is the styro bottom type that I have reflocked.

This is the thin plastic type that cracks which I have repaired and reflocked.

This is the thick plastic type which I recover with a cloth.

Joe does great work and is a pleasure to deal with. For those of us who are less adventurous or all thumbs (or both!) having Joe redo your presentation case is the way to go, IMO.

+1 one on Joe as he is a professional at what he does and it's always a wonderful treat when you get your presentation box back from him as it's almost like your Birthday all over again.

Another testimonial for jcelect. Great work, reasonable prices, and a gentleman to deal with. Can't beat it.
teesur.

Not sure, but Joe charged me $57 to redo this one, which included shipping and insurance.

Your's may be higher due to the size.

It will be worth it!
