I saw this a few months ago at the LGS and when I decided to get it, it was gone so when they got a new shipment in last week, I jumped at it. I know that it is made for Sig by GSG but the Sig version has nicer grips and it says "Sig" on it :D

For about $370, I think it's a good value - feels great in the hand - just like a "real" 1911 (of which I have 5) - it should be fun at the range. I added 3 additional Sig mags (only comes with 1) at $40 each - pricey but I have never seen such hefty mags for a 22 so I guess they're worth it. Field stripping is similar to a 1911 but does require an allen wrench (there are 3 different ones supplied.) Mine has the black PTFE (teflon) finish - it also comes in OD and Earth (I think.)

Brief Range Report (10/27/11): Finally got it to the range today and put 200+ rounds through it - the 1st 100 were minimags with the rest a mix of mostly cheap thunderbolts and a few MM mixed in - the gun was flawless - not a hiccup - I was really pleased. I shot mostly at 10 yards and the sights seemed about 2" low, but I can change out the front sight with those supplied next time around. It really felt nice and balanced - reminded me a bit of my all steel Woodsman but a bit lighter. I went through several mags rapid fire without incident. In summary, I would definitely recommend it - lots of fun!!!

Here's some pics - hope you enjoy:

I purchased a .22 conversion kit for my P220 about a year ago. It normally sold for $350, but Sig was selling them direct for $250. I think this was before the 1911-22 came out, so I'm wondering if Sig was getting rid of its conversion kit inventory before introducing the 1911-22. Hmmmm.

Wow!!! That is one really neat looking 22. I am a serious sucker for conversions and full size guns in 22 that work. You really need to shoot that soon and post a test report. My SIG 226 and Colt Ace function flawlessly. I love them. But that gun is beautiful.

looks real nice, but why do they insist on making it ugly with stupid warnings. its a freaking gun, do you really have to print read the manual on the side?

other that, it looks good.

It is a good looking gun otherwise. Beautiful pictures also.

I have big problems with "idiot warnings" plastered on guns - I didn't mind this one so much because of the reasonable price I guess - I will not lay out serious cash for one with them - it's like the disfiguring IL to me.

My range day fell through last week - hope to shoot it in a few days.

Great pics and very nice looking gun, please post a range report when you run it through it's paces. Will be interesting if runs on bulk ammo and more reliable than the Mosquito. I love Sigs but never got the Skeeter.

GREAT photos, well done sir.

I love my Sig 1911-22

Over 2000 rounds and it is reliable and fun to shoot. Very fun to shoot. I don't know what it is about this pistol, but everyone I've let shoot it comes away with comments about how fun it is. It is a permanent part of my range bag contents.

It "kills" steel plates with alarming regularity!!

A couple of years ago I bought the Kimber .22 conversion unit and have used it on the lower of my Kimber Custom CDP. Good performance overall, and the Kimber slide is aluminum so when placed on the aluminum lower the entire pistol is very light weight.

The price quoted for the Sig pistol is little more than the Kimber conversion unit, so I would be tempted to go that route if I were doing it all over again. Very nice pistol.

Outstanding photography, by the way.

Budsguns has the Sig 1911-22 for $361 and free shipping. This pistol is SIG IN NAME ONLY. Sig does not make it, a German company does and markets it under different brand names.

It's supposedly made by GSG (German Sports Guns)

Buds has a GERG 2210 1911B 22LR 10 shot for $314 free shipping.

Also a California Model:
GERG Model1911CA 22LR 10 Shot $317 free shipping.

They look identical to the Sig, even the warning on the side.

Maybe someone has one of them and can give a report.
