Question about frame marking

When I was cleaning it, I noticed this mark on the left side of the frame where the front of the trigger guard meets the frame. It’s so small that at first I thought it was a small deep scratch. But looking at it under a magnifying glass, it was deliberately put there.

And I’m late to the thread about the Rogers stocks. KEEP THEM.
I carried those on my duty model 65. The wood grain is a finish. Underneath the material is a dull red color. I wore the finish off first set and got another set a short time before we went to 9mm. Still have them. I never looked for another pair once Safariland bought them out and put the ugly gold disc on them. I never saw a pair for J frame as shown above.

When we carried our own revolvers I had a 4 inch Coltguard finish Python for awhile. Started beating up the grips getting in and out of car so stopped carrying it. Stupidly sold it. Also a bad decision to trade off the 2.5 inch blue I had while in the service …
