Bye, bye, Remington...

Watching the Olympics last night I had to laugh when I saw a commercial advertising New York State as business friendly. Apparently they recently launched a national ad campaign encouraging businesses to relocate to the State of New York to take advantage of their "tax free zones" and "pay no taxes for 10 years". For a minute, I thought I had bumped the remote and tuned in Saturday Night Live.

Apparently someone in Albany is either really sick or has a pretty good sense of humor.

Looks like Remington is closing its doors in New York and moving to Alabama, Roll Tide!

Not yet. Right now they are just building their expansion in Alabama.

Will they leave Ilion and NY State altogether? Most likely, but they aren't yet.

Perhaps they are just trying to shore up the expected losses from all the companies they are driving out.
Or maybe they hired a used car salesman who is desperately trying to convince you if something he knows is not the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Seen that propaganda piece a few times. I cant see any company wanting to relocate there cept maybe a company that makes cosmetics or broom handles.

And no, the above isnt slanted at the Ladies, I couldnt think of anything better at the time.

NY's ruling body of clowns doesn't care one whit about Ilion or Remington.

I dont know the population of that community but, I suspect those who werent already Republicans--will now be.

Wait until a new generation of corporate leaders take over the company. I'm sure they won't have any hard feelings moving the company to a gun friendlier state and leaving the employees living in that NY community behind. It's bad for them, but good for gun owners.

It doesn't matter where any company moves...

If they don't have the quality control or customer service, it will be for naught.

Another move might be the nail in the coffin for all the gremiln guns they currently turn out.

Sorry for being a bit skeptical, but moving or not, they've got to get their act together.

You know, if I had a company in N.Y. where I had been paying (high) corporate taxes for a while, I think I might be a little upset that the state would let a new and possibly competing company move in tax free for 10 years.
How is that fair for an established in state company?
Mods. Feel free to delete if this is leaning political.

When the Alabama plant is up and running there will be NO plant in NEW YORK! Why would any manufacturer keep an antique plant open with a union to deal with? The new plant will have new machinery and no union. The employees they want to retain will be transferred to Alabama probably as management and training staff.

PROFITS WILL GO UP AND NEW YORK WILL LOSE!
