Even Glock Haters will like this pistol

My understanding is the rate of fire of that sucker is 1700 rpm. That's close to 30 a second. I disbelieve 3-shot bursts.

I've shot machine guns for many years. I can easily do two-shot with my MP40. But it's only around 600, maybe 650 rpm. I can easily do three, and sometimes two with my 28 Thompson. It's about 800. The MP5 is also around 800, and three-shots are pretty simple.

Fired a MAC-11. That's a 380 at 1200. I dumped a half a magazine - 15 rounds - before I could get off the trigger.

So a much-more powerful round (9mm luger vs 380 Browning), and a rate of fire 50% greater, and you can get off three-round bursts?

Really?

I would love to waste money with one of these bullet hoses, BUT----

They still ain't got no soul..... I have Glocks, and like them for what they are (a tool), but they are like a japanese motorcycle, very well built and capable, with absolutely no soul.....

Just cause this guy is shooting it doesn't make it useless or a hose.

Now you have a sub machine gun and a handgun

I'm sorry but by the time he closes the slide and flips the switch the bad guy gets one round off. Why over complicate things. A revolver is good enough for me.

That would be like saying "by the time you swing open the cylinder, load the rounds, close the cylinder. ...." in either case if you're going into a hostile area with either one you're already locked and loaded

Old steel guys make me laugh.

It's like listening to the Fudds at the range talk about how their turdy/turdy is as good as or better than the AK or AR at their intended use.

Now back to our regularly scheduled episode of Bananza.

We old guys with our quaint, archaic ideas are pretty amusing, aren't we?

I see your point about "intended use".

I've owned and liked Glocks, though I no longer have them. But one of my quaint ideas is that I'm unlikely to need a full-auto pistol OR an AK or AR before I croak, so they don't greatly interest me.

If I were in the market for one of the three it would be the AK, which dates back to when I was ten, in 1947. :)

I opened this thread fully expecting to see a new revolver made by Glock, chambered in my choice of .357 or .44 Magnum...

Saddam Hussein had a Glock 18C when he was captured, and it's on display at the George W. Bush Library in Dallas. My wife and I visited the library on President' Day. Highly recommended if you're ever this way.

A bit impractical, but cool nonetheless.

I did fan the trigger of my 1911 on a few occasions, the last of which elicited a visit from the local PD who got a report of machine gun fire.

I had the privilege of shooting a Glock 18 a few years ago, it was fun, but I couldn't afford to feed it.

Glocks are designed to be carried with one in the chamber. And flipping the selector switch wouldn't be any different than flipping the safety on a 1911, wouldn't take any more time.

I love my revolvers, too, but as I've gotten older, I've been moving more towards semi-autos for concealed carry. I don't know why, mind you, I'm just sort of moving that way. Matter of fact, I just bought my second Glock earlier today.
