Couldn't pick one favorite, but these three I have liked since I was very young, and still think they are great.

Paper Rosie, Gene Watson.

Country Bumpkin, Cal Smith.

Old Dogs, children, and watermelon wine. Tom T. Hall

Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain

Willie Nelson's version.

Speaking of Willie, here's my latest new favorite. I didn't check all the previous posts, but since the last post before today was from before this song was released, I don't think it's been mentioned yet:

If you're like me, good ole' country music just does something for your sole. I hope wherever you are, you are in good company and are in the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness.

Time, it's been time, for another:

It may be a sad song, but there is love in it. Tune into WSM for more great music... :)

It's been a few pages, but we needed somethin' from the country hand again...

Hard to pick just one so here are a few that come to mind.

"Choices" George Jones

"Big Wheels in the Moonlight" Dan Seals

"Country Bumpkin" Cal Smith

"Coward of the County" Kenny Rogers

I like most all of the country western singers and western swing bands having grew up on just about every song mentioned in all of the posts before me. I have always been an Elvis fan too. It is very hard to pick a favorite song or singer because that would depend on the day and the mood I happened to be in. Not that I am moody but you do know what I mean because some songs just come to you.

I didn't see Asleep at The Wheel mentioned, or maybe I missed it. Ray Benson and the group have a new album out recently with the title of STILL THE KING and the songs are based on old Bob Wills tunes. Check out the one with George Strait singing SOUTH OF THE BORDER or the song with Willie Nelson and the Quebe sisters singing the old song NAVAJO TRAIL.

I grew up with my Dad singing songs like Mona Lisa, Roly Poly, South of the Border and many more. My Mom was a Frankie Lane and Eddy Arnold fan.

Pick a favorite----can't do it.

I Wanna Be In the Cavalry. Guess which verse my daughter and I sing extra loud when my Navy son in law is around? :D
