Looks interesting...and expensive. That's a pretty involved bullet for .22lr
Be nice to try some, though.

ETA: Just looked on Targetsportsusa site, they have the round nose box of 400 and case of 1600...6 cents a round. That's cheap, but it's not the segmented bullet. AND, of course, it's out of stock. Good luck with that price when it IS in stock.

It looks like it's manufactured by Winchester!
Browning Ammunition - Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun, Rimfire - ArmsVault

Looks like a way for Browning to gain advertising and maybe a portion of the rimfire ammo that's distributed?
The .22 hoarders and re-sellers probably could care less what bullet is offered,etc..
My problem (and obviously many others!) is buying ANY .22 ammo.
I live rural so choices are very limited. The closest Wally is 50RT and a "certain person" is standing there waiting on the truck each week, buys it all and this has gone on for a long time. I was in Lexington,KY for doc visit recently (3hour RT) @ Wally and the clerk said it wasn't his regular dept. but he knew that same thing happens there too.
Dick's has some now & then but mostly bought up by local folks using the 3 box per day limit rule. last year I got ONE! 50 rd box @ that Dick's, WOW.
Last visit they had some and guy from long ways off was buying it. He said the flea mkt where he lives always has it for 3x the retail price-said they box it in 50round pkgs.
Natchez SS is out of it mostly except target level ammo.
Is there an answer?

Yup - I'd take a shot and also guess it's made by Winchester for Browning. Nothing new - S&W and Colt have tried the same thing over the years and were never really successful with it. I guess I can not blame them for trying and hey...... you never know!

Hope it's a lot better than the Winchester Rimfire ammo has been lately. My experience in recently manufactured Winchester ammo has been quite disappointing to say the least!

Will try a couple boxes if I ever see it but since it isn't 'HYPER' stuff, I doubt it is any better than what I have. :)

The "Frag" design looks interesting but at 1200 fps plus it will be too noisy for "Town work" on garden pest and lawn chewers.

I like 900fps or less to keep the neighbors happy.

I have yet to find a slow Winchester that will group in my Marlin auto or Win. pump........ so the Browning might be out ?

My local Academy Sports had some this past week. 400 rd 40 gr bulk for $22.99. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. That is the best price I've seen in a long time.

I bought a brick yesterday. On Friday I looked at box's of the 45 auto stuff. The black nickel cases felt really nice on the 45 stuff

My Academy had it a week or so ago, but I'm only buying Mini Mags these days. Trying to not test anything new.

Can't remember the last time I saw Mini Mags locally.

Arego's in Hot Springs Arkansas seems to have a endless supply of this . It is a bit pricey for my taste . But then again I am no expert on the subject .

Yes I bought quite a lot of it at Academy Sports. What I bought was 22lr, hollow point, 1400+ FPS. I haven't shot any yet.

My local Academy had some for $9.99/100. It's listed as 1435fps, 40gr hp.

This is what my local Cabelas carries ^^^^^^
It's the BPR and is listed on the box as 1435 FPS
i believe in a 40 gr. HP
I have bought 500 rds. of it but am waiting for some good weather to shoot.

Chuck

I stopped by Academy Sports yesterday, plenty of 100 rd boxes of BPR HP, 40 gr...$9.99 a box..I picked up a box just because I was curious about this rd..Box states 1435 fps..

Seems like a lot of the gun manufacturers are getting on the private label ammo bandwagon, especially with gimmicky magic bullets at outrageous prices.
