The Glock 36 is sort of an oddity in the Glock lineup, I think. But I've recently been thinking about getting one.
Since last year, I've been carrying a Glock 30S (Short Frame) as my EDC. I like it a lot. It's a pleasure to shoot with the Pearce grip extenders on the mags, and its 10 + 1 capacity is a lot of firepower. It rides comfortably in an OWB Blackhawk Serpa holster on a 1.75-inch wide belt. Another big plus is it's a dime-a-dozen polymer frame pistol that rides in a plastic holster. I'm not worried about scratching it or about any dings it picks up in the woods or wherever. If I fell out of the boat and it went to the bottom of the lake, I could have another one exactly like it in an hour or two.
But I've been thinking lately of a Glock that's a little more slim, a little less weight, a tad more concealable. The reduced magazine capacity (single stack) isn't an issue for me. 6 + 1 .45s are still a lot of knockdown power.
So, now that I have the preamble out of the way...anyone carry/shoot one? If so, how do you like it? Pros? Cons? How do you carry it? I'm not big on IWB. I've read articles/reviews about it online and in print, but I want to hear from real, non-website, non-magazine people who have no ax to grind, no profit motive to say the "right thing", okay?
And let's don't turn this thread into one of those Glock-vs.-This-or-That threads, okay? The Glock's what I'm curious about...not Smiths, Springfields, Rugers, Sigs, CZs, or whatever. Nor am I interested in changing calibers...the .45 acp is it for me as far as a self defense round goes.
If you have a 36, tell me about it. Thanks in advance for any input.
