What did I do wrong? I sent that nice lady, the Secutary Of State in Africa my Social Security number, my banks routing numbers, my DL number and full address as she requested. To get my inheritance from my Royal Family that died (that I didn't know I had) in that horrible plane crash in Africa.

And she still hasn't deposited the 100's of thousands of dollars, as she promised? And for some reason I keep getting notices from my Bank that all my accounts have been depleted? Banks do make mistakes, as you well know. It must be a mistake, I had plenty of money in my accounts.

I have already went out and financed a new truck, a new house boat and Put a huge deposit down on some land. Just waiting on her deposit and I'm paying them all off, when she sends it.

My question for y'all is, how much longer should I wait on her deposit? I know it is coming! She sounded so nice and so very honest in her email!

I got the same e-mail from a prince in Nigeria. I guess they wouldn't send out these e-mails if they didn't get a sucker to respond. Some people will fall for anything.

I do realize, I hope, that you really didn't do it.

As it was explained to me, There has been a discovery that the young prince was on the plane and has not been recovered.

The money is safe in Zimbabwe until this minor problem can be resolved.

The search party came back and says the locals tell them "Unga Bunga Punda Runga Kong" which loosely translated means that they think the Apes found him first and took him deep into the middle of the Gongo where no man has ever been and are raising him as one of their own. They call him Tarsam

We are setting up a go fund me type account to pay for the famous explorer Sir Winston Bloviate to go find and bring him back.

You're donations will be blessed and for that you will be happy and have many grandchildren.

Since you will be buying all new pristine firearms, can you send me your old ones? I would be happy to drive to you place to pick the firearms up so you don't have to pay shipping.

I can fix it for you. ;)

I'll collect the full amount for you in less than 24 hours for just 10% of the total amount!
As soon as you send the 10% to my PayPal account, I'll get started. ;)

(it's worth a try, ain't it? :D)

Good News, SW MP15! I received this message & I'm forwarding it to you:

Greetings! I am Mbeewe Nbooboo! I have the honor of being the finance section of the Nigerian government, & I can definitely without question no doubt at all confirm that cheques in your name HAVE been issued. They are in the mail! Actually they WILL be on the way as soon as you resend your original release funds. We seem to have lost the first ones, which we will of course be refunding as soon as we receive new ones. We appreciate your attention in this matter. Also available to you is a free bonus giraffe. As soon as he clears quarantine he will be headed in your direction!

Thank you, MN

These types of scams have a very long history, and many variations. I think they first showed up back around the time of WWI, and used the mail, as the internet had not yet been invented. It seems most of them involved a letter from some rich European nobleman who had been unjustly imprisoned in some foreign country, and could not access his fortune. If you would just send him some money so he could buy his way out of prison and regain his wealth, he would reward your generosity handsomely. Years ago (Before Internet), I received several such letters, and may still have them somewhere.

I probably shouldn't have not deleted the one from Sheik Allah Moblahblah from Saudi Arbia? And all he wanted was a Credit Card number!

But the one from Nigeria sounded so promising!

I wonder if the hundreds of thousands of dollars that inexplicably turned up in my account should rightfully have gone to you.

I'd be glad to send it to you, but I spent it already. Bought an NIB Python on Gun Broker.

I'm still waiting for my Russian, Asian, and Brazilian beauties to show up. As soon as that happens I don't think I'll live long enough to get my Nigerian money.:(

I know guys who actually have had Russian, Armenian, Phillipino and other ladies show up.
Trust me - you will be way better off working on that fortune from Nigeria!

Speaking of Saudi Arabia- knew a guy here in Albuquerque who was getting a Mercedes through the Saudi Royal account.
And of course he was working with a rug store manager.
I told him that when he got it, and was driving past my house to look for my truck.
Just drive up and blow the horn til I come out.
Then I want to drive that Benz Baby round the block.
That truck is long gone.
I have moved.
He quite talking about that bargain MB long ago.

I like the emails from:

THE UNITED NATIONS COMMITTEE OF THE WORLD BANK COUNCIL FOR THE REPAYMENT OF INTERNET SCAMS THAT HAVE VICTIMS

:D:D:D:D

Just send 'em a bank account number and a whole bunch of personal data and they'll send you money you ain't even lost yet!
Wait for it. ;);););)

BTW-
I monitor several accounts for the forum.
I see dozens of scam/phishing emails EVERY day.

The latest fad this week are numerous messages that have a zip file as an attachment, like:

"The wire transfer to your account for $6708.36 failed. Please see the attached document."

"Your account balance of $2314.59 is seriously overdue and will be sent to a collection agent if not paid within 24 hours. This could affect your credit negatively. Please see the attached invoice."

"I saw this picture of you on FB. Not very flattering to say the least! See the attachment."

etc, etc, etc

ANYTHING to make you quickly open that zip file.
I have been told that a zip file, once opened, could be a program install tool that you won't be able to stop.
It won't be a good program!

DON'T open a zip file from an unknown source!

How about the eMails from the FBI (usually something like the FBI Office of Fraud Protection) telling you that some offer you have received is perfectly legitimate and you can safely send your financial information to the Nigerian Prince or whoever and claim the money he's offered you.
