Magwells for USPSA Production

I know magwells are OK for Limited and Open but currently shooting Production.
Looking at the SSS full magwell for my M&P 9 but have not been able to confirm the magwells are OK for Production.
I know I'll be moving to Limited at some point and probably SS with the 45 later but for now playing in Production.
Are the magwells approved for use in production?
Ten round limit in the mag regardless of capacity but can I use the TTI 20 rd capacity mag with the magwell in Production?

Magwell

They are not allowed for Production Division. Gun with empty mag inserted must fit in the USPSA box. Your 20 rounder will not fit.

SSS also has a mag end plate that does not extend the magazine or increase capacity, stock length but designed to fit the SSS magwell. Magwell increased the grip length by about 1/2"
While talking with my gunsmith that also shoots USPSA he said the criteria for Production is the manufacturer had to produce at lease 1,500 of a gun for it to be considered production. If S&W did 1,500 guns with magwells through their custom shop they would be considered production but I don't know of any way of confirming short of calling S&W.
I do like the magwells but not ready to jump into Limited just yet, only have a few weeks of competition under my "belt"

They have to make 1500 and apply for Production status, the manufacturers can be a bit slow on the second part. To be Production legal, the handgun has to be on this list. USPSA/NROI Production Gun List - USPSA - United States Practical Shooting Association (calling S&W about USPSA production status would probably get you a "huh" response)

This is pure bull. I have a pistol (Paraord TAC Five) that meets all your stated criteria, and it is specifically NOT allowed in USPSA Production BECAUSE it has an integral externally flared magwell. In CRO class, it was emphasized that it is either ON the Production approved list and has NO UNAUTHORIZED MODS, or it is illegal. Does not matter if they made a million of them.

There are steps and criteria for a handgun to be accepted to the Production gun list.

1. 2000 manufactured and available to the general public .

2. No magwell attachments or external flaring of the magwell, the lateral internal width of the well may not be more than 1/4" wider than the lateral width of the magazine. The lateral width of the well to mean the narrow width where the mainspring housing is inserted, the lateral width of the magazine to mean the narrow side that faces the mainspring housing when inserted into the handgun.

3. Must meet the criteria listed in the appendix of the current rule book as well as that listed above.

4. The gun must be viewed by NROI prior to its acceptance. 5. A production gun approval form filled out and signed and returned to NROI.

Given the USPSA rules, if you declare Production with that mod, and when you fail tech inspection, you should be moved to OPEN.
