M&P 15-22 sport vs A1 model?

Looking to go buy one today. Bass pro has the A1 for $539 but Cabelas has the sport in sale for $380. Whats the difference?

Practically speaking, after examining descriptions and photos of both I'd say $159.

Yeah. Im starting out and i dont know what the main differences are outside of the sights. The cabelas would allow me to buy some accessories but i dont want to make a mistake on my first purchase. I would appreciate some non sarcastic responses.

The handguards are different. The A-1 has a quad rail. The sport has an M-Lock style handguard with top rail. It also comes with one 6 inch rail section that you can attach where you need/want it. Get the one that's on sale unless you REALLY want that quad rail.

I would definitely go for the Sport version unless you like the quad rail of the OG 15-22.

And I'm not trying to be critical at all, but the A1 refers to the flash hider, and both rifles have the exact same one.

And if you really want the quad rail there are a bunch of them sitting about as take-offs.
