S&W model 36-1 1977/1978

Hello, I own this little revolver that was manufactured between 1977 and 1978. I would like to change the front sight. Is this possible?

From the pic, it looks like it might indeed be held in with a pin. However, unless the sight is damaged or too low, I would hesitate to replace it. If visibility is the issue, you might try some red nail polish. If that improves your sight picture, you could then consider installing red ramp, which would require either machining or careful filing.
