I got the "natural" and used Lexol leather conditioner on it. Darkens just slightly. The nappyness does not bother me, but was unexpected. Are the finished belts not "nappy"?

Got mine off eBay and it arrived yesterday - thanks, its exactly what I wanted and seems well made.
Very nice belt. Ordered mine on Nov 21, arrived today, that is good service. I hope it holds up as well as my Rob Leahy "Simply Rugged"

Sure. "De-nap" is simple enough. Any small hardwood dowell rod rubbed rapidly back and forth with enough repetitions to cause a bit of friction heat will do the trick.
Referred to as "boning", it was done using an actual bone by the old ones.
I use a 7 inch piece of maple broomstick cut off. Wife never missed it.

Just call or email them. I did and they said no problem and very willing to make them at 1 1/4". Ordering 2.
