FAVORITE CARRY RIG

I bought a Amish hand made 1 1/2" black heavy duty gun/work belt off of ebay for $31.50 shipped.
From friends that already wear them they are tuffer and thicker than belts 2X-4 times the price.

Wholeheartedly agree!

I have a handmade thick bridle leather belt made by Coblentz in Millersburg, OH. Also paid about $30 and it wears like iron. I haven't even been able to stretch the notches (holes) in the belt after 2 years of almost daily wear with both IWB and OWB holsters.

Phil,

This'n is today's favorite.......lit'l holster on a 2" gunbelt sportin' a Colt Commander.

.

I regret that I am not allowed to like this at least twice ! :D

The heck with belts and belt holsters! I use a horizontal shoulder holster except the summer months, than I use an IWB, a belt and suspenders! In fact, I always wear suspenders regardless on what or how I carry, or even if I don't carry. I wish I discovered suspenders when I was a teenager!

Nice holster. You need a better belt brother. Once I went to a more solid belt with a steel core my belts look better, hold the weapons tighter to my body, and just carry better.

I do have a few "better belts", but they are all 1 & 1/2" where
the loop in the little Gaylord is only 1 & 1/4", Here are a few
better belt, left to right:

Price Western Havana (color) on James Culver Havana belt.
The knife is Junkyard Dog II

Price Western (black) on Sparks gunbelt. S&W Extreme Ops knife

Price Western Chestnut (color) on Haugen belt CRKT knife

Black Hills Shark Trim high ride on Crescent Shark belt
knife is a Boker Kalishnadov

Black Hills Lizard trim high ride on Culver lizard belt Piranha knife

And just a few more better belts, continued from above post.
Left to right again:

TJ's chestnut (color) high ride pancake, Culver belt, Puma knife.

TJ's black high ride pancake, Culver belt, Benchmade knife.

Delfatti's shark trim IWB, Crescent shark belt.

Sideguard 2 tone IWB on Simply Rugged belt.

Garrity Inconspicuous IWB on Sparks belt.

So, as you can see, I'm belt poor now. That's why I'm
using that cheezy Michael's Mirage belt.

The Amish belt arrived and I have to say it's heavy duty.
And it fits with room to grow. Better a little big than small.
Leather is thick.
Buckle very solid and looks good.
No branding, markings or stamping on the inside.
I'm happy.

Here's my favorite. A Kramer Leather Horsehide Holster, Belt & Ammo Dump Pouch for my M60-7. It's about 12 -13 years old now, gets used 2 - 3 times a week for about 8 hours at a time and is the best carry rig I have ever owned. Good retention, excellent wear characteristics, no snaps, screws, velcro, springs or anything - just perfect design and construction. It is also thinner, lighter and stiffer than Cowhide yet much stronger and maintains shape better! I am a Horsehide guy now for CCW :) and leave the Cowhide for the trips to the Range or plinking around in the woods.

Of course this is only my opinion, but until I bought this Kramer Horsehide Rig I did not realize my Cowhide Rigs are obsolete. :o
