44 mag Lew Horton 629 Carry Comp III

So I mostly accumulate pre lock S&W’s, so I didn’t even know this was a thing until I seen it for sale by forum member “DubsModel29”. It came with the original grips, but I put some Hogue Tamer round to square conversion grips on it. I can’t wait to take it to the range and carry it in the woods. It’s on page 455 of the S&W 4th edition book. Doesn't say how many were made. Anyway, thanks for letting me show it off and if anybody else has a 629 Carry Comp I, II, or III, please post some pictures because I would love to see them!

Ask and ye shall receive:

629-3 Carry Comp (also called Mag Comp) One of 495 from Lew Horton. They were done in two runs, each with special serial numbers. This is from the second run.

Along with its cousins, the 629-5 and 629-6 Camfour specials.

All three came with "rubber" grips, but I don't like them.
