A couple of week ago I was at the local police supply store. He let me look through a box of guns they had just received. They were all Glocks and M&P's except for this one. He said they would be able to sell them on the 21st so I was there this morning to see if it was still available. Luckily it was so I was happy to give it a new home for $250 +tax. SCSW4 says the 9 Tactical version was made from 2000-2006 but doesn't break it down any further.

No doubt.

I would have been digging through the box to see if they were anymore..

That was the only thing in that box that I was interested in. I try to go by there at least once a week to see if they've got anything new in. Various PD's trade in their old guns for credit toward new ones. They give the departments officers two weeks to come in and buy their issue weapons if they want them. Then the store employees get first shot at the remainder before they sell them to the public. Thankfully no one was interested in this old S&W.

This is how we find the hidden gems. Probably 90% of my visits to LGS are just window shopping, but then on occasion I find something interesting.

Me to. I usually visit a half dozen or more pawn shops weekly plus the police supply store. Over 90% of the time there is nothing interesting but you never know if you don't go. Yesterday was a great day. Found this one and later at a pawn shop found a Browning GP Competition.

One went for 4 times that recently on the big auction site. That's an amazing price.

That's not unusual for this place.

This is the place I picked up the 2 1/2" 686 a couple months ago. It was $550+tax.

Several years ago they got in several boxes of 66's and 686's that a department traded in. I ended up with a half dozen 66's and 4 686's. They ranged from $325 to $425.
