Starbucks is now the largest restaurant in the world

I've been to an actual Starbucks store once in my life . I was with a group of people and somebody else was driving . I stayed in a hotel in Beaumont , Texas several times that had a Starbucks kiosk . It was the only way to get coffee if the restaurant was closed . I drank it because it was there .

I'll just leave this here.

"JUST IN: Starbucks Employees Union Expresses 'Support for Palestine' Following Recent Hamas Terrorist Attacks..

Starbucks Workers United, representing around 9,000 Starbucks baristas, faced backlash after expressing "solidarity with Palestine" following a recent Hamas attack on Israelis.

The union, based in Buffalo, NY, later deleted the post but "liked" a tweet from one of its members stating, "Once again, free Palestine."

US Senator Rick Scott called for a boycott of Starbucks and criticized the union for its tweets, urging the company to denounce support for terrorism.

Starbucks swiftly distanced itself from the union, asserting its condemnation of acts of terrorism and disagreeing with the statements made by Workers United.

The coffee chain emphasized that SWU and SEIU do not represent the company's views."

You're not wrong.
Starbucks is a bit of a standout though. it still has physical locations. I believe it is more a function of attrition though.
After very busy days, McDinks was our go to easy button meal solution. $20 would feed us both well enough and we'd get change back.
Today, that same glorious feast is around $35 ......
Yeah, they can farm maggots with it at this point.
There's far greater value to be had from a family restaurant. So that's where we go. Better food, and slightly less expensive.

I have been in a Starbucks once years ago, and I didn't get a cup of coffee. I got a Chai Latte tea. Never been back. I can get the same thing, only a lot cheaper and better at home.

My wife is a coffee aholic, but she refuses to go to Starbucks. She says she went once and never wants to go again. She must have over a $100 in Starbucks gift cards. She has tried to give them away to friends and family, with no takers. Me, I am a tea drinker.

The "Honorable" Sen. Scott is a dufus who should be listed on the rolls of felons. Florida can thank the honorable senator for Red Flag laws, no gun purchases for anyone under 21, and a host of other gun-control measures.

Having said that, I worked as a Starbucks barista in '93 while attending college in Spokane, WA, back when the business was getting started. Good job, but I admittedly did not like their brewed coffee, agreeing with others as it was too strong and bitter. However, if you bought the beans brought in from all over the world and made a milder brew, it was really good coffee. We had huge bins of various beans which we sold in any quantity the customer requested. Beans over a week old were either used for the brewed coffee of the day--a different brew almost daily--or donated to shelters. No tutti-fruity flavors, just vanilla, hazelnut, or almond. No "flavored" beans at all.

It's not the same business anymore. All beans are prebagged and freshness is questionable. Choices are minimal. Don't judge Starbucks coffee by what is brewed in the stores. Anyone can take any brand of coffee and brew it to death, making it too strong and bitter.

Spare me the attitude, just gimme a cup 'o joe.
I had no idea black coffee was called an Americana.
I hear ya. The first time I was in a Starbucks it was at the Seattle airport. I think it was the late '80s and I was hungover and jet lagged, having just got off a biz class — free drinks were a novelty for me then — flight from Tokyo. Bleary eyed, head throbbing,I stand there looking at the incomprehensible menu. What the hell? Grandes, Americanos, and whole buncha other stuff I never heard of...

The guy behind the counter took pity on me and asked me what I wanted. I said, "Look. Could I just have a cup of black coffee...?"

He gave it to me, but I've been kinda annoyed at Starbucks ever since.
