This is another rifle that I inherited. A beautiful never shot Remington mod. 700 SP in the powerful.300 ultra mag ! From what I can find info. wise on this rifle it was a limited run , with the laminated stock, heavy bead blasted stainless barrel with target crown and jeweled bolt. I have a nice Zeiss scope that I’ll be putting on this one soon.

I’ve got the identical rifle, only with the bolt on the other side. Unless something is hidden that differentiates it, it’s a 700 LSS and they were available for several years in the late 1990s into the 2000s. I bought my .300 in 2001 while stationed in Alaska for a big game hunt that never occurred. I did end up killing a Colorado elk with it though. Very accurate, and healthy recoil also
Oh yeah I later discovered .300 RUM defines “overkill” for coyotes.

Thanks for the additional info. On the rifle.

In the mid to late 90s I wanted one of those in 7mm mag. I found a shop that had one down in Pennsylvania but when I got there it was gone. If I recall correctly they were just under $500 new. Big money back then.

Very nice indeed! Like that laminate. Still have my standard Model 700 in walnut and deep blue. Ran me $330 back in 83

One of the guys I shot long range distances with/against, had your same rifle in 338 RUM and I had 338 Lapua Mag (Savage 110BA). We all used guns that have muzzle breaks, The consciences was the RUM had more "Blast for the Buck" than the Lapua!
