Revolver has crack....trash?

I found a crack on a revolver I acquired when it was this ones turn to get cleaned.

Has anyone seen a crack in this location?
Is this now a just a conversation piece or trash?

Not a crack. That is the seam for the side plate. All is well...

Welcome to the Forum. You're not the first one who has asked that question, and won't be the last. What is worse though is when unscrupulous vendors at gun shows show an unsuspecting owner, who is trying to sell something he/she doesn't know all that much about, that crack and talks down the price based on it.

That is the seam of the sideplate. It is very finely fitted. Curiosity gets the best of folks sometimes. Do NOT attempt to remove it. It is NOT removed by prying.

Thanks for all the replies. I felt like a big dummy. Once I got back to it later, I found the other seams when I took the grip off. Came back to say nevermind and it was too late.
