My wife just received a call from a man stating that she missed
being presant in court for a hearing selection and the Judge set out a notice to the Sherriff's dept.
She was to meet him at xxx address near the Sheriff's office to solve the problem.

I heard the long phone call of them talkin, from the back room
and went into the kitchen to see what was up.
My wife set the phone down , to get some something and I asked the man on the pone, what was up?

Typical low life with a scam that I gave my 2 cents too and hung up.

Be careful people.............
and NEVER leave the house to meet with these people, which he was trying to have happen !!

Impossible, jury summons aren't sent registered or signed receipt mail so it's impossible to prove you ever received one.
I would have asked for the proof I received one?

Wonder what the intent of the scam was?
Cash extortion, kidnapping, assault….

Geezzz… there are lots of scams and some are really good.

I don’t answer my phone if the number does not pop up with a recognized ID.

All text messages I receive with a link are blocked and deleted, unless I recognize the ID.

My cell phone voice mail announcement only has Verizon’s basic message.

In today’s colorful state of crime the color gray seems to be a reasonable color.

I would have responded that it would be a great pleasure to meet and I have a concealed carry license so I'm always armed.

I love the "getting the check to deposit" in the mail scam going around.
You're sent what looks like a real check to deposit in your account to be a "mystery shopper" and then told to take $400 of it out after you deposit it and use the rest to buy certain cash cards with that you then return to them with your "buying experience". They contact you to confirm you deposited the check and when you tell them it hasn't cleared yet, they say go ahead and do the assignment and reimburse yourself out of the check once it clears.
I usually string em along for about a week just to waste their time. lol
Hey, I'm retired, it's something to do.

I would have showed up at the meeting - with a sheriff's deputy.

Tom—I am amazed they don’t on occasion contact someone who is a far more hardened criminal than they are who says, “absolutely, I will be glad to meet you.” And upon meeting pulls out their Glock and says “give me every dime you have collected.” Then after getting the money, telling them “I doubt anyone will miss you, here is a 9mm round for your temple and troubles.”

Or a real professional criminal: "You've got a good little scam going here. But from now on, you're gonna kick up 75% to me, minimum 2K a week, no excuses. Now give me your driver's license so I know where to find you. And your family."

So many of these scams are so blatantly obvious that I have difficulty having sympathy for the PT Barnums.

On the subject of scams, some of the advertising on this website are literal weight loss supplement scams.
