So after a quick scan through the SCSW5, with several stops to investigate items of interest and admire the eye candy in the photos, I flipped back to the front to peruse the acknowledgements, looking to see whose names I might recognize. And I did find several, including some from this very Forum. But what stopped me cold was when I found my own name mentioned! Of course I recalled the email exchange to Mr. Supica with photos and details I thought he might find pertinent, and which he was kind enough to thank me for, but I hadn't thought it was worthy of an acknowledgement. So naturally, I checked out the listing for the models in question, and sure enough, the data had been edited to include my contributions.

So, thank you Mr. Supica. Your tireless work on the Standard Catalog is truly appreciated, as is your generosity in acknowledging my modest contribution.

Sad to see the prices on the Pre and Model 14 and 17 in excellent condition. I wouldn't sell them for that even to a gun store. My opinion, and we all have one. Not complaining, just sad. Paid more than that for quite a few.

I typically pay no mind to prices listed in books, I feel like those numbers are obsolete as soon as the book goes to print. The gun market is like the stock market and prices fluctuate almost daily. The "Completed Auctions" section of gun broker is my primary resource to see what people are actually paying for guns. I manage a FFL shop/range and am buying used guns almost on the daily and definitely find this to be my best resource.
