Tulsa Bound . . .

It was so wonderful being a kid and growing up in Tulsa 2 miles from the Fairgrounds. I use to look forward to the show more than I did Christmas but now at 66 I have about all the guns and gear I need. Now it's kind of sad, I don't have much of desire to go and I'm only and hour drive away in OKC. It use to be so fun to have quest for something(old Smith revolvers, lever actions, etc.) or just drop a lot of cash for the heck of it.

I go spring and fall nearly every year, mainly to see if there is really a Charlie Shirrel.:) It's tougher now in my dotage and diminshed wealth, however I have made some financial changes so I can attend. I'll be there Saturday early.

I'm not gonna make this one, but I do plan to be back in the all.

Good show. My regular hookup for a dealer badge was unable to get a table this year, so I was relegated to steerage. As a result, I ate a late breakfast, and Uber'd to the Golden Driller about 8:30. No line to get in, and the lousy weather kept the early crowd away. Bought some paracord zipper pulls and a 25 round pack of Byrna's Max pepper balls for my meet and greet basket. About 25 minutes in, on the lower level, near the ramp, two nice fella's shouted me out, but were disappointed when I told them I was not "Chuck . . . " Embassy Suites was great, lots of other attendees in the house. Hard Rock Casino is solid, and Fair Meadows Simulcast was good entertainment, across the parking lot from the show. The rain also screwed up a couple of our favorite tracks, so we left about 4:45 to watch March Madness at Buffalo Wild Wings. Uber was a little pricey from what I am used to in bigger metro areas, but definitely better than the near non existent service in nearby Claremore. We stayed in Claremore to be close to Will Rogers Cherokee Downs and Casino, which we liked way better than Hard Rock, but we always ran the risk of being stranded there due to the spotty ride share. I imagine we'll be at this Embassy Suites for the foreseeable future. Eagerly awaiting next April . . .

Did you go to the JM Davis largest gun museum in the world in Claremore? I actually enjoy it as much as the Tulsa Gun show.
