Rick I assume your a police officerIt is my favorite 45. Finally bought a few 1911;s so that I would not shoot the 4506 so much, Veterans and rookies alike enjoy shooting it as much as any handgun. in my collection.
I wanted one with the square trigger guard and settled for a round one...all my old holsters were for the square but they fit the round one just fine..Thanks all… I was looking for one with the round trigger guard. But after two years of looking ( most were very high priced ) I found the gem with squared trigger guard.
I had one back in the late ‘80’s, and like a clown, I let it slip away…..
What are they going for currently? Thanks all… I was looking for one with the round trigger guard. But after two years of looking ( most were very high priced ) I found the gem with squared trigger guard.

The commonality extends only to the S&W 45 family line. It's my understanding that the 4506 shared magazine commonality with several other pistols in the Smith line.
I’ve seen a few around here, sellers asking 8. Really optimistic imo, condition was just above Leo trade-in, and they were asking me to “make offer”. “Yea right, I could get a really nice 1911 for that”…is what I like to counter with. Now if I found one like the above for 550, that be different. What are they going for currently?
I picked all this up about three years for $550.
