I'm not Catholic but we are witnessing history, again. A new Pope has been selected. Very quick and a new world leader is selected.
Please keep this in a historical perspective.

There have been 4 popes in my lifetime, about to be 5, but this is a new trend for there to be so many in such a short time.

I guess my own experience over the years, and the reading the history behind the Catholic religion have made me a cynical person when it comes to believing and following. I'd rather just do unto others, and leave it at that . . . . . .

I do find it funny that all the main stream media, their talking head experts and all their polls were about as accurate on their predictions of who the new Pope would likely be, as they have proven to be on predicting the Presidency.

Prevost is not an uncommon name in Louisiana . Obviously we pronounce it differently than what I'm hearing on TV .

Maybe a CUBS, BEARS and/or BLACKHAWKS banner hanging from the Vatican balcony?

In my lifetime, I grew up with 4 Italian Popes, then a Polish Pope, a German Pope, and an Argentine Pope. Now a Cubs fan from Chicago? Inconceivable!
His mother is from Louisiana, so he has some Cajun background. I've read he made pizzas for his staff in Peru when he was stationed there.
May he do well in his position. Maybe the first one ever with a math degree (from Villanova), before he entered the seminary and got a Masters of Divinity, and later a Doctorate, in Rome.
