Has anyone here shot anyone as a civilian?

Even with three decades OTJ in a rather bad city, I would not answer that question.

It's kind of like guys with absolutely no idea of motorcycle culture or operation are the only ones to ever ask, "can I take it for a test ride?"
oh come on, I've riden lots of peoples motorcycles, and loaned mine out to people whom I trusted, I loved my neighbors old Busa, what a great bike, sporty, but not a bad ride for a day or two. My last two bikes were an 01 and an 04 GSXR-1000, those were amazing bikes..

On the other hand, a local gent bit the dust on the Saturday before Mother's day, so bikes are very dangerous, as are all handguns, rifles...

but thank God, NO, I have NOT!

Had a guy barge in my rv. I went slo-motion and all ended well.
Irony was, I was at gunsmith school that particular week working on shotguns..
Slow motion and calm during this but it took several hours afterword for my eyes to stop twitching.

I learned this bit of wisdom many years ago and this seems like a good time to pass it along.......

Never ask a man if he has shot or killed anyone. Never ask a man about the women with whom he has been intimate. And never, never brag about either.

Never spent time around active military guys, eh?

Only myself, and that was a stupid holstering incident many years ago caused by a trigger shoe I should have never installed. Thankfully, it was just a minor flesh wound on the outside of my leg.

Nope.

Had the occasional nightmare where I needed to defend myself with a handgun, but the trigger was so heavy that I didn't have enough strength to pull it. Man, that'll make you wake up sweating.

Was that before or after the bit in that dream where you are pounding on the guy with your fists and he just smirks.
