I'm new to shooting, got my SW22 Victory 1 week ago. I took it out for the second time today. The first time I was shooting Aguila Super Extra 40 grain copper round nose. Had no feed or ejection issues during 200 rounds shot. Did a full cleaning after session.
Today I was shooting Federal Auto Match 40 Grain lead round nose. In the first 2 magazines I had 3 failures to eject. On the 3rd mag, first shot there was a failure to eject with no new feed. I could not clear the misfeed - and neither I nor the range officer could clear the failure. The magazine still had 9 rounds. The bolt would only pull back about ½ inch.
When I got home, I removed the breakdown screw and removed the barrel, receiver and bolt. Pulling out the bold pulled the spent caseing from the chamber. The casing slid in and out of the chamber relatively easily.
I did notice that the hammer was not fully cocked - it was perpendicular - it was literally 'half cocked'.
Federal Auto Match is supposed to be good ammo. Does anyone have an idea of why this happened and any suggestions on how to prevent - or at least minimize - a recurrance?
Thanks...
