In general, the shorter the barrel, the more value/ demand. The 28’s were only originally made with 4 or 6 inch barrels. In 27’s the 3.5 /4/5 inch barrel models are most in demand and will be valued/ priced higher than the longer barrels

I have seen/heard that a very limited number of 8 3/8” 28-2 were also made.
 
I’m a major fan of long barrels for shooting purposes. For everything that’s more important than actual trigger time a shorter one wins.
