I just discovered this guy on my front porch. I guess he's hunting tree frogs.

Looks like the kind of snake you can trust with your money but not your woman.
Red Rat or Corn Snake.
Nice to have around, non aggressive but will strike if cornered.

find them down here in the keys all the time they like hanging out where we have lots of rocks that's where the rats are

He looks like he's P.O.ed, cause he can't figure out what kinda surface he's on. Do him a favor and pitch him off the porch into the grass.
I also think what soFlaNative said in post 3. Kinda have the same personalities as the Garter snake around here. They will eat small pests, won't bother you but will snap at you if cornered. My dog got snapped at in the back yard just a couple weeks ago by a garter snake; she was playing and it didn't want anything to do with her. They may give you a case of the "Willeys", worst case scenario!

We had a black one in the old spring house at the hunt club in mountains in Va. Called her “ Miss Sylvester” as we had no mice or rats. Sylvester is for “ Sylvester No Shoulders”, lol.
