250 Years

Hence the old "Hurry up and wait!" motto of our armed services.

For my part, I took Basic in the Second Armored Division at Ft. Hood in 1959. Hell on Wheels became Hell on Heels to us, because we marched everywhere we went. Two years later when I made my way back to 2nd Armored, I was in 15th Cavalry and finally got to ride, even if it was an M59 APC.
Did you run into Elvis Presley? A dear friend of mine was drafted at the same time and actually talked to him briefly (but served in different companies).

My niece and her husband just retire last week serving 20years as lt coronel in the army.

A while back in Okinawa, SF Softball Team was playing HQ Troops Team.
SF Cheer - ended with - Airborne, airborne, all the way!
HQ Troops cheer - Backspace, backspace, punctuate, punctuate!
Congratulations and Hand Salute Army on your 250th!
Here is to the Remington Rangers. We could not do it without you.

My favorite is, "When does the 0730 briefing start?" Hurry up and wait...you get used to it.
