I have not had it long enough to clean it but it won't take much TH and smooth target trigger. White outline rear sight but plain ramp front sight. It appears to have been shot very little and not carried in a holster. As expected it is perfect mechanically. It came to me with Safariland finger groove grips. They feel good for shooting but period S&W targets will look better.

Lots of reflections in the pics but I'll get some better pics after it's shined up.IMG_1963.webpIMG_1964.webp

Congrats!
Model 19-3"s are one of my favorites.
Im wondering if you got a ship date on it or are you just estimating its age?
Is its serial a high K900,000 or a low digit prefix?
Reason Im asking is it appears to have the pinned front site ramp from your posted pics , is that my imagination or is the ramp a seperate piece?
Has the big butt frame ampersand which carried over into the early 70's but doesnt have the "dot dot" in the caliber rollstamp found on 60's era Model 19-3's

Congrats.

I found one a couple weeks ago that dates to 1973. One of the most iconic Smith's out there.

2K14024, which I believe is 1970, but you never know with S&W.

My 19-3 is the standard that I judge other revolvers by. Rencently, my brother purchased one of the new Pythons. He came over and we shot together. I brought out the 19-3 and we shot them side by side. I think that Bro was a bit miffed that he shot the 19 better than the Python. ;)
