A 34-1, 2" Nickel caught my eye today at a LGS (along with a couple of SIG 1911's!). In the two minutes I had to look at it (wife was in the car!) and write down specifics, it looked great, the nickel was flawless...not a scratch/mark and the stocks look new, and color case on hammer and trigger was perfect. Bad part....no box or papers! Online and auction prices seem to vary greatly. S.N. puts the date at 1982... M2040XX. What do the experts/owners here say would be a good/expected price range for one as described?
If I want it, I'd better get back there early tomorrow....the last 36 no dash I 'missed' by waiting one day and asking questions!

What were they asking?
Seven to eight fifty would work for me if I were looking.
Asking $755, no box, but looks virtually new! I may try to put together a trade for it and a
Sig 1911 STX they have.
Paid $675.00 for this one a couple years ago. With box and papers. Considered it a good deal then. I would expect at least $100 more now..View attachment 787671
Looks exactly like yours, except stocks are darker, more contrasting grain and glossy. Yours is a beauty! What year was yours made?

SCSW 4th edition says $100 premium for nickel 34-1 plus premium for 2". I would say get it if price suits you. See where you say date is 1982. Does it have a pinned barrel? Since pinning barrels ended in1981 if it has one that could be another plus. Yesterday I saw a pristine blued one with pinned barrel round butt with box and papers listed at $899 on consignment at a local shop.

Box and papers add a premium. They can sometimes be found on Ebay. There are also box end labels available.
I had a model 34. 2", RB nickel that I let get away. I've regretted it ever since. They're hard to find outside of collections. I'm gonna estimate the price at around $700.00 with no box or docs. You should buy it. If you elect not to, please give me a phone number to the shop. I have a receiving FFL.

I had this one up until a few years ago. My daughter and her husband were visiting from LA, and he was sort of a burgeoning gun enthusiast - very safe and respectful - so I opened my safe and told him to go ahead and paw through things. After a bit I heard her squeal with delight, and walked in to see her holding this one and grinning ear-to-ear. The rest of the story sort of writes itself.
