10-7 snub nosed

I found at my local gun shop a pretty clean Smith 10-7 snub nosed. I don’t normally find the K frame snub revolvers in my neighborhood and am thinking about picking it up. It has a pretty decent blued finish and it and has a round butt and what appears to be the original grips. Best of all the price seems good to me ($475).

Is there anything I should look for? Any issues I should be aware of?

Assuming that it's used.......

Canted barrel? Push off/creep single action? Cylider bind opening/closing? Cylinder rotation free, extractor OK? Extractor rod run out? Single action trigger pull 3 pounds? Hammer block in place, hammer nose in tact? Trigger recovery OK? Excessive end shake on cylinder or yoke?
Yoke alignment OK? Front and rear gage in spec? Cylinder stop holds? Cylinder loose on cylinder stop? Cylinder stop movement OK? Stop slots in cylinder OK? (check for peening) Stop window in frame OK? Peening?

Just a few items to look over. There are many more.

Inspect closely for signs of significant use, wear, or modifications. Chances are it will be just fine as I think most snub nose revolvers get carried a lot and shot very little. As for the price, it might be a fair deal or it might be a great deal, it really depends upon your geographic location. When buying a firearm from a dealer or pawn shop, I always try a little negotiating, even if it is just to get the shop to pay the sales tax.
 
Yes you need to check it as described but the 10-7s were made fairly 'bullet proof' (pun) and unless it has been abused (maybe) or worn out (unlikely) it should be a great gun. Presently, I have an older model 10 that has seen plenty of use but is still a good gun, I'm just careful to treat it well. When I had a new 10-7 snub in my 'experimentation' days I fired some pretty hot loads and the 10-7 never even breathed hard, when I sold it it was in great shape except some bluing wear. (I had to sell it to get my 686 and later bought another Model 10, because I just HAVE to have a model 10. :D
 
Most pawn shops have a 100% mark-up, offer $350 cash. Play money is practically non-existent in most parts these days, I bet they take the $350.
 
I imagine a bulky jacket can hide anything.
 
I tried it with everyday clothes. It made a big lump in my side, obvious I was carrying something there. Bending over or turning, the gun was conspicuous.
