Well, you did. We have plenty of moderators and the Big Kahuna to keep threads on-topic and otherwise police the Forum. I've been here for at least a decade and I think they've done a good job. If you have a complaint (and IMO that's all this is) there's a subforum to take it up with the management.
Otherwise, this sort of non-revolver topic "thing" doesn't belong in this sub-forum, it belongs in the Lounge.

I'm a lurker on most forums, including this one. I have on a couple of occasions responded here, but not what I would call very active, and really don't have a dog in the fight.
However, something that stands out to me is the rush to respond so quickly that some posters really jack up their words and spelling to the point time is spent trying to decipher (which I don't do anymore and skip over it) what they're trying to say. I can't believe they are in such a rush to post that they can't take a couple of seconds to re-read before sending it. I will say this forum is better than others for not having the guessing game, but as far as most forums go, of any kind, I see more and more of it.

I am going to weigh in on this thread in support of the OP's point, though it could have been made more politely and in a better forum.
My second career was as a university professor in the field of management information systems and I have specialized expertise in databases and data management. I have been admitted as an expert witness in this field and my career spanned the early days of subscription reference database access in the '80s to the modern Internet and AI search techniques.
The issue here is the balance between precision in search terms giving narrow results that miss relevant posts and broad search terms that flood the result list that require extensive effort to filter. Further, on the forum we have different ways to get to potentially relevant posts including key word search terms or just browsing. Both let us limit results to certain forums, authors, or dates.
A limitation in the Forum's search capability is that if we want to narrow our search to a multi-word idea the search results give us back results with ANY of the words. I just posted on a problem with my 3913's Ejection failures. I'd tried to search on both 3913 + Ejector and on 3913 + Extractor. I got a large set of results (4 pages on 3913 + Extractor) because results with either word showed up. (Particularly problematic because "Hand Ejector" is so frequent in the Forums.) Searching Titles Only gave me results with NEITHER word in the title. More sophisticated search capabilities on other platforms may let you use logic such as "Word1 AND Word2", or "Word1 OR Word2", and even "Word1 WITHIN x WORDS OF Word2" or "Word1 but NOT Word2".
So we will end up scanning titles whether we start with search results or jump straight to a sub forum and start reading with a big pot of coffee and an empty bladder. In addition, my usual involvement with the Forum is my daily eMail blast of yesterday's posts which show titles. All of these methods of finding something of interest start with browsing titles. So, the OP's suggestion that titles be informative is sound. If you are looking for advice this is particularly important but equally so if you are just looking for community participation on a topic of interest.

When I hover pointer over a thread title, the 1st paragraph or so highlights in a thought window - no clicking involved. if interested I open topic, if not scroll on, Does OP not have this feature?

Print reporters have been making up sensationalized headlines for a couple of centuries in the USA just to catch people's attention to get them to read their articles. I guess it's no different in the digitized world.
For me, if a thread title doesn't catch my attention I don't open it, which is about 2/3rds of the threads on the forum, yet there are certain thread starters who's threads I open regardless of the title because I know their content is usually good.
